Homecooked - CNY Reunion Dinner @ Jakarta

What is your favourite food during CNY someone asked me.. I think for a while and only one occurred to me.. the reunion dinner :) It is the time when everybody gather together to eat the abundance of food that will last for a few days and even though at different times of the year, I will see the food, it just taste good during the new year as the combination comes together... :p
Cooking the pig stomach soup with other ingredients. The soup is extremely packed with flavour :)
Curry chicken, cooking as well ... such a big pot hehe
The spread... The big table almost cannot fit in hahaha
The condiments, spring onions, parsley
Garlis oil, to be dipped to the soup for extra fragrance
Belachan to go with some of the dishes
Sliced abolone to go with the pig stomach soup. It is sliced and put separate to ease the distribution and finding it in such a big pot :)
The pig stomach soup.. with pig stomach, fish ball, fish maw, pork rib, chicken
Pineapple, the must have dish during CNY, coz it's Ong Lai.. auspicious dish.. so can become Ong (King) :P
Chinese leek, Suan Chai.. so can count money.. so more money comes your way.. another auspicious dish and a must have during CNY
Bamboo shoot, Shun.. so do everything can be smooth (shun).. Also must include during CNY
Fish, is another must have dish.. for nian nian you yi.. year of abundance and excess.. This is not done yet..
Here it is the finished result, sweet and sour fish.. looks reddish orangish.. suit the festive mood. Care must be taken when eating the fish... the bones cannot be broken and must have leftover to bring over to the first day of CNY.. Everybody is very careful not to break the bone, even thinking how best to flip the fish hehe
Pork trotter with sea cucumber.. I'm not sure if there is any significant meaning, so let me come out with one myself... pig trotter and sea cucumber known for the collagen content, so eating this will stay beautiful :p
Wine chicken with the special leaf. I'm not sure what leaf is that.. It is for health (I think since it contain wine, looks herbal). Taste a bit bitter and strong wine smell. :)
This is the sliced fried egg.. to be decorated on..
Qiang mee.. it is a white teochew noodle.. Eating noodle signify longetivity, another auspicious dish :) It is loaded with pork and prawn and leek :)
Rendang pork, new CNY dish :)
Curry chicken with potato and gizzard
Butter chicken, new dish to CNY as well. It taste like the butter frog version. Sweet and nice :)
Happy Chinese New Year! Hope that this will be a great year!
