Homecooked - Pork Chop and Prawn-based Meatball Soup

Raw pork chop, ready to be pounded :)
The ready version of pork chop.
Method:
- Cut pork fillet into slices
- Season with pepper and soy sauce
- Beat an egg and crush wheat biscuits and put separately aside
- Dip the pork slices in the egg and coat with biscuit crumbs
- Fry and serve.
Next, is the soup. I am just imagining about this soup what was posted earlier in Vietnam Trip post. So trying out to duplicate. Bought 2 types of spinach and I include carrot and wolfberry to supplement the eyes :)
Prawn shell and garlic for the soup base
Minced meat and cut prawn
The prawn based meatball soup :) I am satisfied with this soup. Think it's close enough to the one I have in Vietnam ... hehe

Method:
- Season the prawn slices with rice wine
- Season the minced pork with soy sauce, pepper, rice wine (a bit), sesame oil (a bit).
- Use 1 teaspoon of oil, to fry garlic and prawn shells.
* Note: Try to brown the garlic first, as mine is not brown and it doesn't release the burnt garlic smell that I want. I'm too lazy to mince the garlic also hehe
- Squeeze the prawn head so that the juice is out to add to the fragance.
- Pour hot water on the pan and transfer the mixture to the pot. Add desired amount of water to make the soup. Leave it to boil
- If you are adding any pork bones, dried scallop, ikan bilis etc as soup base, this is the time to put in.
- The soup will be reddish in color by now, take out the prawn shells.
- Put in carrot slices, as this is the toughest ingredient to be cooked.
- Next, I put in the meatballs and wait till it is cooked.
- I dumped in all the spinach into the soup and wait for a while.
- I added the prawn slices and wolfberry in and cover the pot, waiting for everything to boil
- Serve.
Good lunch :) My attempt of cooking soup from stratch hehe
