Dessert - Homemade White Fungus Soup

Went to look for white fungus as it is said to have good benefits: it is said to be effective in nourishing the lungs, and contains collagen to firm the skin. It is also a mild laxative for constipation patients.

It's nicknamed the "Poor Man's Bird Nest".. :P

So ok.. went to buy it, a few huge fungus for just $2.. :)
Got the idea of cooking it but there is no enough ingredients like gingko nuts, ginseng, lotus nut, longan, rock sugar etc.. So just make do with whatever available at home.. -_-"

First, I soaked the dried white fungus, until it expanded.. then cut them into bite sized..
Then, I boil the chrysanthemum flowers first to get the base of the soup taste, then add wolfberry, red dates..
Put in the sugar and white fungus in and let it boil a little more..
After turning off the fire, I put in rose bud and cover the pan ..

The whole process, from the soaking is quite fast.. about 30-45 min hehe

Here is my first attempt to make it.. Will improve the next time when I have all the ingredients :P

Seafood platter for two! The content is slightly different from seafood platter for one, it is bigger and contains..

Dinner - Chun Yi Pin Steamboat @ Bugis

Been wanting to try this ever-crowded place for BBQ Steamboat :)

This is the table setting ... the stove rather high ..

We choose the BBQ option. There is also steamboat option where you will get 2 types of soup.. Lotsa soup option actually, I choose the herbal chicken soup base. There is spicy and non-spicy. For non-spicy are also fish head soup, milk soup and one more I can't remember.. The spicy one are tom yum, ma la soup etc (read: don't remember) haha
Huge selection of food and there is no limit on the prawn or crabs. The prawn is very fresh.. the meat slices are frozen and we can order the type of meat we want, then the counter person will slice for us.. :)
Huge selection of veges too, which is good :)

I like this place! Not much pics taken as I am busy eating hahahahaha
Total bill: ~$50 (weekend dinner for two)
